Project Spark is Now Offline - Another Piece of Digital Gaming Gone
121Project Spark released on March 4, 2014 and was at first officially "shut down" on May 13, 2016. After that date it was no longer downloadable on either the Windows Store or the Xbox One marketplace. On August 12, 2016 the servers were taken offline to existing users rendering uploading/downloading and collecting Achievements useless.
Another game taken offline due to being heavily reliant on online services, which at this point unfortunately is not uncommon. I discuss some other possible example, and existing examples, of games being flat out erased due to being digital only or reliant on online services.
