What If We Put Birds In A Spaceship? | Star Birds (Cheerful Resource Management - Demo)
125Star Birds is a wonderfully cheery game about a group of birds on a spaceship, and it's made by Toukana Interactive, who made Dorfromantik, and Kurzgesagt, the YouTube channel that asks all sorts of amazingly bonkers questions, and it is absolutely gorgeous as a result!
It's got that wonderful Kurzgesagt art style running throughout it, from the menu screens and cut-scenes through to the game itself. The cut-scenes tell the tale of the Star Birds and we get to meet all sorts of different characters, all of whom look wonderful.
Our Star Birds are out in space in search of useful materials, like iron, aluminium, water and uranium, and to gather these they set up on little asteroids and do some mining. We place a little launch pad onto the asteroid and then we build lots of extractors on the resources to gather all the good stuff and send it to the launch pad, which then sends the resource ship flying back to our base!
There are many different materials to gather and there's refining to do as well, such as making oxygen. We need to keep our eye on our finances but fortunately we can do missions to top up our space credits. We also do missions to help us build up our space base, adding new modules like greenhouses or reactors.
There's also research for us to do so we can unlock new types of buildings, and sectors of space to explore! But hang on, what's that weird thing on that asteroid? We should take a closer look...
