Is this a Shoryuken, or a Dragon Punch?

In fighting games, a DP - or Dragon Punch - is typically a rising uppercut often used by Shotos. Many DPs have invulnerable frames - or I-frames - on startup and are often used as an anti-air or wakeup “get off me” move.

The term originates from the aforementioned shoryuken, performed by Street Fighter’s Ken and Ryu, and the z-shaped joystick input of forward, down, down-forward, is referred to as a “DP motion”.

Other great examples of DPs in fighting games are Sol Badguy’s Volcanic Viper and Darius’ Grievous Wheel in 2XKO.
