Ash fell from the sky... the opening words to one of the most incredible trilogy of books ever written. In the Final Empire there is no room for dissension, only the Iron Fist of the Immortal Lord Ruler. With his nobles to rule over the Skaa, the empire saw an oppressive peace for a thousand years. But there are powers moving against the immortal god-man when the slaves wield the power of Allomancy against their God-Emporor. This Essay is the first of many in which the worldhopper Elsric shares his observations and theories about the powers of the Mistborn. This letter is specifically told in a way that it can be shared with those who are new to the Mistborn series, and contains no plot spoilers.
