‘Monetization status: Limited or no ads due to content identified as not suitable for all advertisers. Your video remains fully playable and is eligible to earn subscription revenue from YouTube Red.’

Since making this video, TechBaffle is getting demonetized. Please visit https://www.patreon.com/techbaffle if you've found this video helpful. Your support will be greatly appreciated!

In this video I talk about this message and how it affects YouTubers, YouTube viewers and the advertisers. This message may show up if you’ve just uploaded a video. It can also appear on any other videos you have on your channel.

To find out if your videos are being monetized, head over to the Video Manager page and your videos should have a green $ sign next to them. If there’s a orange/gold $ sign, then your video has been identified as ‘not suitable for advertisers’.

You can appeal this limitation and request a manual review. I also discuss this, as it’s not as easy as it seems.

Don’t confuse this with Copyright claims – the gold $ sign means your video isn’t suitable for advertisers, not that it contains copyrighted material.
