Actually, whenever your system runs out of the memory that you have installed as the hardware in your PC, your ram stick, it moves towards the paging file for creating the virtual RAM.
It is actually a file that is created as a virtual ram by windows, and this virtual ram is utilized whenever the program that you are running, whether it be anything, runs out of RAM, in order to maintain stability, windows maintains a file that is treated as virtual ram.
But it doesn't mean that if you adjust the size of paging file 2 something very high, this will give you a boost in performance, because the four most thing to note is, that even the fastest nvme drives which are used for storage, are much slower when compared to the ram sticks, so the paging file should only be used as something for backup.
