SO WHAT IS SAKURA TAISEN HUH?! (aka Sakura Wars) It got rebooted a little while ago and I’m both surprised and delighted to see Fuwamoco playing it on stream! Sakura Wars is one of my very favorite Sega franchises!

But between being Old, retro console exclusive, and the fact that hardly any of the games have been released overseas, this series has mostly fallen into obscurity!

Two Sakura wars games have been localized abroad, though both have been abortive soft reboots. (I'm aware the first game got released in Russia so HA!)

So here’s a quick OkAs-style overview of the series, its origins on an obscure Sega game console, and lots and lots of footage from oavs and game captures.

Basically, a vtuber talks for ten minutes about why he thinks Sakura Wars is NEAT ok!?!?
