Windows Mixed Reality is Microsoft's merger of AR and VR into their own standard for Windows 10 PCs. You can use WMR headsets to play Steam VR games, with a few caveats. It is a cheaper alternative to more expensive headsets and its inside-out approach to tracking is gaining in popularity with other headset makers because it is cheaper and requires no special room set up by the users.
