What To Expect from Hazel Sky | Console and Steam Release in July
Hazel Sky is an interesting exploration and engineering style game that will have you take to the skies. In this What to Expect preview of Hazel Sky, I look at what we've seen from the Hazel Sky trailers to try and piece together what we will get access to once Hazel Sky is released in July.

What can you expect from Hazel Sky? The quirky adventure game coming out on console and switch in late July. Well let's take a look. This is a hazel sky preview, let's see what we know so far.
The trailers kind of give off some pretty mixed vibes, but we do know that Shane is going to be the main character here, and he's an engineer, you know, those math kinda inventor people, although i get the feeling in Hazel Sky that he is going to sway towards the inventor side of things. In a curious move, Shane is sent of to complete a bunch of trials, and if he doesn't do well, then it's banishment waiting for him. It's kind of like university, but if you fail, don't bother coming home.
Shane strikes up a friendship with Erin, who we get a pretty big glimpse of in the second of the trailers you will see in this video, and their friendship, well leads to Shane seeing the world in new lights. Could well be they do a bit of long distance romancing. Yeh, i'd say that's heavily likely. Given they are communicating by radio, I hope they have a private frequency thing worked out.
So what are these so called trials, good question, ah, i'd be thinking flying machines and different kinds of mechanisms that take to the skies. Shane will be building, repairing and even discovering artefacts about those who have gone through the trials in the past, and perhaps not been so successful. Will we find out exactly why this weird civilisation is putting a hell of a lot of pressure on their youngest and most talented engineers. I kinda of doubt it. It reminds me of viking style tales, but ah, with a bit of a different spin to it.
There's clearly going to be a lot of exploring and narrative to discover her, and character progression is going to be something to keeping an eye on. Really Hazel sky is going to be heartwarming, but require that bit of investment from players. Perhaps the mechanics will be fun enough to ignore everything else going on, but seeing how shane deals with this tension between his new friendship, and his childhood dream of the trials, yeh that's something I'm curious to see.
Hazel Sky is not only a pretty charming looking game in terms of narrative and character, but pretty took look at. For those who like playing things at a bit of a slower pace, or just like taking to the skies with crazy inventions, this is definitely a game worth keeping and eye out for in June!
