What to Expect in Valhalla | God of War Ragnarök Valhalla DLC #shorts
0The God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla DLC is a Roguelite that launches on December 12 as a free update for all owners of the game. God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla will take place as an epilogue and contain some story spoilers, but can be accessed at any time. As it will contain story elements from after the campaign, consider completing the main God of War Ragnarok Missions before beginning.
When you begin God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla you will not have any armor and equipment and need to earn equipment by playing Valhalla. You will however have access to all weapons and a fully upgraded skill tree at all times. Your shield and Spartan Rage will need to be selected before entering into the combat arena.
The PlayStation Blog details that "As you overcome the trials of Valhalla and explore its depths, you will make choices between temporary Glyphs for which Stats to upgrade, which Perks to select, which Runic Attacks to wield, and more. Each attempt can play out differently based on the rewards you choose, so keep your strategy in mind when making selections!"
God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla has 5 difficulty settings, with the hardest being Show Me Mastery. The PlayStation blog detailed that you can swap between these difficulties in between attempts. And you will not be locked into the Show Me Mastery difficulty should you want to drop it down for your next run. The rewards do increase depending on the difficulty you've selected though.

Each attempt in Valhalla will encourage you to master different aspects of Kratos’ arsenal as you face new combinations of enemies and some surprises along the way!"
PlayStation details how the mode will reward you with new resources that can be put toward improving your build in the form of permanent upgrades that "affect both Kratos and even Valhalla itself." You will also be able to unlock armor in Valhalla, and it can be customized but is detailed as being for appearances only.
