Organ Trail is a retro zombie survival game. Travel westward in a station wagon with 4 of your friends, scavenging for supplies and fending off the undead. Members of your party might die of dysentery or you might have to put them down yourself when they get bit.

Organ Trail is a retro zombie survival game. Travel westward in a station wagon with 4 of your friends, scavenging for supplies and fending off the undead. Members of your party might die of dysentery or you might have to put them down yourself when they get bit. Faithfully recreated as if it were on the Apple 2, Organ Trail offers amazing 16 color art and retro beeps and boops. Packed full of zombie mechanics, themes and references, this is a must have for any zombie survival fans.
In The Organ Trail, players must cross a post-apocalyptic United States in an car in order to reach a sanctuary free of zombies,called Safe Haven. Players must manage their limited resources, including food, ammunition,medicine, scrap, money and fuel for their vehicle, in order to complete their journey and keep everyone in their party alive and healthy.
After the player is saved by a former priest named Clements, the two band together with a group of fellow survivors and plan to drive to a safe zone located on the west coast. However, Clements is bitten before reaching Washington D.C. and leaves the players and their group with his journal—which explains some of the gameplay—before being mercy killed by the player.
From here, players scrape together their initial supplies and leave Washington D.C. The city is nuked by the military, and the player’s party begins their cross-country drive. Upon arriving at the safe haven in Washington State, players are asked to assist the people inside by collecting gasoline, in order to power the generator that controls the haven’s draw bridge.
The player will begin the game under attack by zombies and be saved and greeted by a former priest named Clements. Afterwards, he asks the player if they have any friends they trust, in which the player will enter the names of four friends they think are still alive. Clements informs the player that they may be alive in Washington D.C. The player and Clements both set out for the capitol. During the small venture to the capitol, Clements breaks his arm, gets dysentery, and is bitten by a zombie. When you make it to Washington D.C, Clements gives you his journal in order to help inform you of possible scenarios throughout the game, such as when gathering supplies in D.C. After you find the supplies you will use on your journey to Safe Haven, Clements notes that he is bitten by a zombie, and is asked to be mercifully killed.
Shortly after reuniting with the friends the player listed and leaving Washington D.C, the city is nuked by the military and the player and the group set out to Safe Haven in Oregon.
Upon arrival to Safe Haven, the player will need to collect gasoline for a generator and defeat a boss to gain entry. If the player is injured during either of these objectives, they will will begin to crawl towards the gate of Safe Haven, attempting to outrun a zombie. Just before the zombie attacks the player character, Clements will appear in front of the gates and rescue the player character.
