Today Minecraft Snapshot 17w43a was released - the first snapshot for Minecraft 1.13, a.k.a the "technical update". #minecraftemployee

slicedlime works as a Tech Lead for Minecraft at Mojang, but the YouTube and Twitch channels are personal projects run entirely in his spare time.

If you want to play this pre-release, choose the "Snapshots" profile in your launcher. Keep in mind that snapshots are unstable - they can break your world if you are unlucky - keep backups!

Changes in this version:
LWJGL 3 for a lot of bug fixes and stability, new bugs
- Fullscreen now defaults to windowed borderless - switching is much quicker now
- Fullscreens on current monitor
- New slider in video settings: "FS Resolution"
- Fullscreen mode on OS X disabled this until crashes are fixed
- Fixed keys getting stuck when toggling fullscreen
- Fixed a crash when toggling fullscreen mode: "Keyboard must be created before you can read events"

Data packs:
- Like resource packs, but for the game server - gameplay funcitonality
- Located at world/datapacks/
- folder or zip file
- /reload reloads data packs now
- Contain loot tables, structures, advancements, functions and recipes
- Recipes don't work yet
- Load order isn't visible or changable yet
