When the Congress government was in power, millions of tons of grains used to rot in government warehouses. The Congress government was not willing to distribute it to the poor. The Supreme Court had to intervene in this matter. The Supreme Court said that the Congress government should distribute these grains to the poor. But do you know what then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said? He said that the Supreme Court should not interfere in this matter. It means, let the grains rot, let the poor die of hunger. However, the Congress government was not willing to give grains to the poor.”
