When \( \mathrm{K}_{2} \mathrm{Cr}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{7} \) is heated with conc. \( \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{SO}_{4} \) and
\( \mathrm{P} \)
soluble chloride such as \( \mathrm{KCl} \), then:
(1) Red vapours of \( \mathrm{CrO}_{2} \mathrm{Cl}_{2} \) are evolved
(2) \( \mathrm{Cl}^{-} \)ion is oxidized to \( \mathrm{Cl}_{2} \) gas
(3) \( \mathrm{CrCl}_{3} \) is formed
(4) \( \mathrm{Cr}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{7}^{2-} \) ion is reduced to green \( \mathrm{Cr}^{3+} \) ion
