Reddit is home to many mystery and crime-solving communities. Subreddits filled with thousands of people, sharing theories and digging deep in the hopes of cracking cases. Unfortunately though when you get a bunch of online amateur investigative journalists together, problems arise. Reddit is notorious for several high-profile examples in which users of the site falsely accused innocent people of crimes they didn't commit, resulting in slanderous claims and damages. These high-profile screw-ups have come to tarnish the site's reputation as a crime-solving hub in recent years.

"We Did It Reddit!'

However, don't discount Redditors altogether, as on rare occasions members of its community actually come together and make miracles happen. Today I'll be telling you the stories behind three cases that Redditors actually solved. Instances, where online sleuthing resulted in a victim of a hit and run getting justice, an illegal artist being punished, and the family of a missing boy given closure. These are the times when Reddit got it right.
