This video covers the concept of level plateaus for the various categories of Pokémon: Berry Specialists, Ingredient Specialists and Skill Specialists.

Berry Specialists are straight forward: you level up for increased berry value and speed. The big unlock for berry Pokémon happens upon final evolution and the unlock of the 2 first sub skills.

Ingredient Pokémon have their first plateau at Level 30 as they unlock their 2nd ingredient drop, which is usually quite strong. There is a second and third potential plateau for the ingredient Pokémon, which respectively are at Level 50 for the 3rd sub skill unlock and at Level 60 with the final ingredient unlock.

The overall strategy concept in this video is that you may want to wait until you know for sure that you can reach the next plateau before spending your Dream Shards. Then those Dream Shards are better spent on building other Pokémon for the time being, while you save up the candies needed for the huge boost up to the next milestone. Berry Pokémon are an example of Pokémon that can be leveled up anytime without any issue.

The skill specialists are then the most interesting at all, because for the most part they peak at Level 25 with the unlock of their 1st and 2nd sub-skill. With the exception of BFS Skill Specialists, there is not much else happening for the Skill specialists except a small boost to their berry value.... outside of investing Main Skill Seeds, and potentially reaching Level 50 for the 3rd sub skill unlock.

Overall the discussion can be quite nuanced and interesting in the long-term when portioning your resources with these plateaus in mind, and as stated above will work differently for the three categories of Pokémon.

The concept also works well in spending Dream Shards only when you can guarantee the level-up. Otherwise you can wait for more candy, and if it is a Pokémon you use daily, that daily Sleep Exp. is going to be nice too
