The latest episode of The Bad Batch saw Crosshair’s return to the planet Barton IV, where his redemption initially began in season two when he shot an imperial officer. This time around, the main antagonist comes in the form of an ice wyrm that begins attacking the Batch when the perimeter sensors are turned off. But why were these creatures a problem in this episode and not last season. This can be explained away due to the seasons on Barton IV. The ice wyrm creatures are much less active in the coldest seasons, which is why it never attacked when Crosshair was stationed at the snowy base in Season 2. If you compare the weather patterns in this episode to "The Outpost," you can see that Barton IV is now experiencing a slightly warmer season, hence their increased activity and threat.
