Guard Dogs are useful if you aren't utilizing your backpack slot for anything else. While the basic Guard Dog is sporting an AP3 Liberator Penetrator, the Rover can apply an AP 4 DoT that deals damage to the main HP pool of enemies. The Dog Breath, or "Stink Bug," deals little direct damage, but confuses enemies and has a small AP 6 DoT.
