Ned Kahn, an environmental artist and sculptor, designed the "Rain Oculus" in a collaboration with architect Moshe Safdie. It can be found at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The Shoppe's promenade level features the acrylic bowl, which has a 70-foot diameter and collects rainwater that falls two stories to a pool below. The "Rain Oculus" acts both as a skylight and rain collector, as water is recycled back to the whirlpool and runs through a canal inside the mall.
