There are lots of chests and doors that can be opened using Lockpicks in Baldur's Gate 3. The majority of these things can be broken open instead of using lockpicks, which can save some resources such as thieve's tools, spell slots and inspiration. However, there is a tiny price to pay, and not as much as you might have previously thought!

At time of recording the game was still in Early Access Patch 8, and by the time of the full release of Baldur's Gate 3 things may have changed.
