This is a rare texture corruption glitch that can happen on the GameCube release, but has only been documented on the Dolphin emulator, so it could be an obscure emulation bug.

It switches to this messed-up look completely randomly, and it has multiple variations. Usually every texture becomes a single color, however this time it took on a stripe pattern. Other variations I've seen include:

- Everything but the HUD and menus are completely obscured by vertex explosions
- Textures are normal but lots of polygons are missing
- Textures are normal but the screen has a red tint
