Who (or what) is The One Being in Mortal Kombat?
0In the Mortal Kombat universe, there is the legend of the One Being. In the beginning there was the One Being and the Elder Gods -- oh, and the Titans, apparently. The One Being fed off the Elder Gods. So they built the Kamidogu to smash him apart -- without any help from the Titans, apparently. When he was broken apart, his consciousness became all the very realms that make up reality -- and the mortals that dwell within them.
He was invented in 3D era but is represented in the NRS era. Seriously, he's in the MKX comics, MK11 intro dialogues, comes up on discussions on Twitter from developers like Dominic Cianciolo and Shawn Kittelsen, and even an episode of Mortal Podkast by Ben Mekler. Oh, and there's the suspiciously similar Chinese myth of P'an Ku, which I first heard about in the Mortal Kombat novel by Jeff Rovin.
