Whether you want to watch a movie based on a video game, or play a video game based on a movie, this video may change your mind.

We have been making video games based on movies for almost as long as video games have been around, and we still haven't learned. Even though games like Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King are very good, Games like Blade II and The Emperor's New Groove show us just how bad video games based on movies can be.

Movie adaptations are even worse. Classics like Super Mario Bros (1993) or Double Dragon (1994) are considered some of the worst films of all time. Modern adaptations like Uncharted (2022), The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023), and Sonic 1&2 (2020, 2022) are better, but we still haven't made a really great video game to movie adaptation. With movies like Duke Nukem, Minecraft, and Jak & Daxter right around the corner, it's not looking like it's going to happen anytime soon.
