This is the Austeyr AUG, Australia's standard infantry rifle. The Aussies adopted the AUG, or as the Australian Defense Force designated it, the F88 in the late 1980’s, and it’s been the workhorse of their military ever since. As countries like France and the UK move away from their bullpup rifles, opting for more AR style weapon systems, the Australians show no sign of getting rid of their AUGs.
