So, from a pure competitive standpoint, csgo's ranked matchmaking is absolutely flawed. Someone who only plays one map can progress through the same ranks as someone who plays 7 maps. It doesn't make any sense at all, but thats what makes it amazing. Its refreshing, its not that serious. You can take a break from csgo and come back not worrying about learning new maps, no callouts, new smokes. Sure CSGO will have meta changes, but adjusting to that is easier than adjusting to all these other things mention before. CSGO is amazing, and this matchmaking system perfectly complements it. CSGO's ranked matchmaking is a perfect model for games with smaller populations.
