Despite the fact that there have, to date, been no scientific studies that have proven unequivocally that video games cause violence, people still happily buy into the idea that playing violent games will lead to real world atrocities. But why is that? Why, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, do politicians and the media continue to blame video games every time something bad happens in the world?
