Why Does my A10M reset the Mix... Yet be persistent between prints?

The A10M Mix option via the controller is one of my favorite parts of the printer. It takes any print and gives to the ability to make it pop with a cool gradient mix. For some reason it is not retaining the settings if I do it before the print begins... but then it does retain it for all the prints afterwards. Anyone have a tip?
