Which is believed because he's seen throwing 1 of his swords at a KSI drone during a climactic battle in Transformers Age of Extinction. And he's only seen using 1 sword by the time The Last Knight rolls around. Leaving many to believe that he had simply lost the sword or didn't retreive it from the drone's body. But that couldn't be any further from the truth. Because Drift just so happens to still have both blades. You just missed it. Which is totally understandable. Because its a blink and you'll miss it moment. During a brief scene we see Drift training in the junkyard and he just so happened to have both blades. But he chooses not to use them. You ask why? Simple. He chose not to.
