This is the forth episode of Why I Hate and today I am expressing my opinion on the Honda Power Unit that McLaren current have in the back of Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne cars. It is taking Honda to much time to develop this engine, I know that it does take a while to get an engine to at least the mid field but as soon as Honda make one step forwards they take three backwards. I mean it took Mercedes when they were engine supplier to McLaren just three 1996, 1997 and then in 1998 they won the constructers championship and the drivers championship with Mika Hakkionen, the following year they did the same. And it wasn't just that time Mercedes have developed a new engine. 2010 when they bought out the Brawn GP team they had a mid table first season, a bit a flop in the second but not even halfway into their third season the struck victory at the 2012 Chinese Grand Prix with Nico Rosberg. Then two years later they go on to win the drivers and constructors championships three years in succession.

McLaren are doing everything with in the power they have to get the car at the top end of the field to compete with Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull but it's the Honda engine that is letting them down, do they switch back to a Mercedes engine? Should they try a new supplier again? Comment your thoughts below. I also dislike Honda at this moment in time because McLaren have a fantastic history and are well known for reliability and Honda is destroying that trait. Fernando Alonso is known for winning races or at least finishing in the top five but his stats are being destroyed with endless amounts of retirements or non finishes. An rookie Stoffel Vandoorne is have his start to Formula 1 overshadowed by what is a terrible power unit killing his hopes of a good performance. I hope that Honda can soon sort this out because McLaren never disserved this.
