A bug in 1.9 that was not present in 1.8 is not allowing me to release Move the Squid. This video will be used in a bug report that I am gonna go make now. I should probably test this in 1.10 though... so brb

EDIT:
Just tested in 1.10 pre-1, and it is even weirder. If I push a squid off a cliff it will not fall so it looks like a flying squid... also, all the stuff from this video is still weird too. I am going to go make that report now.
