Every Naruto fan knows that when you take the chunin exams, it’s a pretty big deal and that you need all three members of a squad, unless of course your name is Itachi Uchiha, who was a special case. Back before Itachi joined the anbu, Itachi gained a reputation as a talented shinobi, a generational prodigy, and people like Orochimaru and Danzo kept their eyes on Itachi, yet out of jealousy, his sensei never put Itachi’s name forward to take the chunin exams. After Itachi’s teammate Tenma would die fighting Obito and after Itachi awakened the sharingan, Danzo and Fugaku both would push Hiruzen to allow Itachi to take the exams alone, because his ninja career was suffering. Tenma was dead and Shinko, the girl on his team was so traumatized that she retired as a ninja. The Itachi story of daylight says Fugaku signed the waivers and allowed Itachi to take the exams alone where the guy would set the record for the forest of death alone and the record would go unbeaten until Gaara and the sand siblings broke it in naruto part 1. Even crazier, had Itachi not been purposely playing around in the forest of death, he would have finished sooner.
