Why Nier Automata's Opening Act is so Captivating
30Nier Automata took a cult classic franchise into the mainstream. One of the biggest factors in its meteoric rise was its ability to capture players attention immediately after pressing "New Game". In this video I discuss and analyze how Yoko Taro, Square Enix, and Platinum Games were able to craft such an enthralling opening sequence. While the journey of Yorha Androids 2B, 9S, and A2 is well known for its spectacular ending, I think the intro is incredibly overlooked. Without a great intro many players will simply move onto something else. RPGs in general are notorious for starting slow, so when a game starts off with a bang, it deserves recognition.
