Why Pathfinder 2nd Edition isn't "Too Complicated": Complexity & TTRPGs
Hello Travelers & Tourists!
Since Pathfinder 2nd Edition launched, I have seen many conversations claiming that 2e is "Too Complicated," and is unapproachable for all but the most hard-core of gamers. This perception has caused many people to avoid Pathfinder 2e, or even to actively persuade others to avoid it as well.
And personally, I find this perspective to be deeply unfortunate & untrue!
I have had the opportunity to introduce quite a few people to Pathfinder 2nd Edition, and even among people who are completely brand new to TTRPGs, I have found that the game is manageable, approachable, & even quite fun!
So, today, I want to take a look at the concept of "Complexity" in TTRPGs (in Pathfinder 2e more specifically), and talk about why I don't think it is fair to call 2nd Edition "Too Complicated." In particular, I will compare Pathfinder 2e to the game of Chess to show how a game can be "Complex" & yet still be relatively easy to learn, play, & enjoy!
Join me for a conversation on why Pathfinder 2e isn't "Too Complicated."
