Why Persona 5 is one of the best JRPGs of this generation
289What is Persona? If you're already a fan of the series, you know just how good this series is.
But if you've never touched a Persona game before, much less heard of it, the Persona series is kinda hard to explain. At its core, the newer Persona games are a half-RPG and half-dating/social simulator. The games are some of the deepest JRPGs out there today.
Starting in 1996 as a spin off of the Shin Megami Tensei series, it quickly became a powerful brand on its own, becoming a separate, stand-alone series with Persona 4 Golden in 2012. With the newest game in the series, Persona 5, the game finally emerged from its hardcore, niche status and into the mainstream, collecting many "end of the year awards" in 2017.
Whether you're a hardcore fan of the series or a newcomer, we hope this video is fun and educational. The video will concentrate on the newer Personas, namely Persona 3, Persona 4: Golden, and Persona 5.
With that being said, let's get into why the series is so popular and how it risen to become one of the giants in the JRPG today.
