World's End Club fails to match Danganronpa and Zero Escape quality
World’s End Club had a lot of potential as the next murder-mystery, Battle Royale visual novel game. Led by the creators of Danganronpa and Zero Escape series, Kodaka Kazutaka and Uchikoshi Kotaro, this announcement alone had a lot of visual novel fans excited. The hype was real for this game.
However, when an early access version came out in 2020 on Apple Arcade, initial impressions were not good. Many were hoping the final version, to be released on May 2021, would fix many of the game’s flaws.
But that would not be the case.
World’s End Club would retain many of those flaws and be widely panned. While I had some fun times with the game myself, the game was equally frustrating. For every good the game had, the bad dragged it down more. The game did not meet the hype, nor the quality of Danganronpa nor Zero Escape.
Let’s break down what happened to World’s End Club in this video, why it had a lot of potential, and what went wrong.
