Random spawns are definitely bad and here's why. In GTA Online, when you first spawn, you are completely vulnerable and have no idea where anyone is. If you spawn in the middle of nowhere, there is a high chance that someone will just drive by and kill you. Also, if you're in a firefight and you randomly spawn in the middle of it, you're most likely going to die. It's much better to spawn inside a building or take cover when you first spawn so that you're not an easy target.
