Resident Evil 4 is considered by many to be the greatest game of all time and in 2007 the game received a very special port to the Wii. In this retrospective review I cover the unique features this version of the survival horror classic had such as motion controlled aiming. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition also received all the bonus content that was included with the games port to the PS2. With the 2023 Resident Evil 4 Remake right on the horizon it seemed like the perfect time to revisit the first version of Resident Evil 4 that I ever played.
If you want to play the game with motion controls today luckily there's some other options outside of the Wii edition now too. Setting up Resident Evil 4 on the Steam Deck to work with gyro is pretty simple and the Deck offers a wide variety of options to fine tune the motion controls to your likings. If VR is more up your alley Resident Evil 4 can also be enjoyed on the Oculus Quest 2 which allows players to aim Leon's weapons with motion controls in first person.
