Why Should You Buy The New UCS Death Star! (And Did I Actually Buy It?)

In todays video I am sharing my thoughts on why to buy the new Lego UCS Death Star set #75416, with 9,023 pieces. This set does cost $999.99, and comes with 38 figures and is almost the size of the UCS Millennium Falcon from 2017. On the front is the savings which begin with the $50 in insiders points when purchased. Then there’s the GWPs, which is the TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack set #40771, which on Legos website, is a $34 Value, and gives you 3 extra figures. Also this set is selling for $160 on average on the second market. The last GWP is for purchases of $120 or more, and is the Luminous Ghost set #40772. With the money settle it is important to know the set may sell out, and you can keep GWP, and sell the set to cover the loan and fees it took to purchase. This means you make all your money back, and keep the GWP, and buy again later when its a better time. Or you can sell the GWP on the 2nd market and get some money back that way. Lastly it is an excellent value when compared to buying the prior UCS Death Stars on the second market. First we have the 2005 version, set #10143 selling used for $1,200, or new for $2,000. Second we have the 2008 version, set #10188 selling used for $600, or new for $9000. Lastly third we have the 2016 version, set #75159 selling used for $1,000, or new for $1,500. But all these sets have 3,400 to 4,000 pieces, and have no to less minifigures, and is plagued by things that come with old Lego; Discolored broken bricks, poor construction, and poor instructions to name a few. Also as a last ditch effort to recoup money you can sell old diorama sets such as the Trash Compactor, Trench Run, and Emperors Throne Room, and that would net you another $160 towards your purchase. With all of this, I can tell you I did make the stupid decision to take a loan and purchase this set. I have decided, it is time for a Death Star, and after these points, its not a bad idea after all. I will be making a video unboxing this set and then releasing the schedule of this build soon.
