~~Video Description~~

The power of snow, ice, and extreme cold is something that is often discussed in military history circles. In fact, in some situations it is OVER discussed. However, in all of this talk, I feel that one thing is often lost- or at least under represented. That is the feelings of the people 'on the ground,' who bore the real brunt these logistical nightmares. Just as important as where the front lines were on a map, how did the soldiers on those lines feel about the extreme cold? Why was it so much worse than what we might expect?
