Why Super Saiyan-level power is still ๐ณ๐ช๐ฅ๐ช๐ค๐ถ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ด in my crossover? *Read description*
This description video is to explain how very different my story's physics work compared to current Dragonball (or other fictional franchises) despite Goku being canon and I have an equivalent form up to about Ultra Instinct. But you may be surprised that throughout the ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ช๐ณ๐ฆ canon story, the god forms are almost never used at all. In fact, it's actually the lowest form that is commonly used! In particular, I am talking about Super Saiyan 1 strength.
Of course, we all know SSJ is the classic transformation that started Goku's trend of stronger forms over the decades since 1991. Although Dragon Ball Super had now made the old, iconic form from Z become a "child's plaything", this is NOT the case in my story. The word "obsolete" doesn't seem to matter, as it is still useful even in the post-ending.
My equivalent version of SS1, called Lv.1, is identical to it in raw power. But the original concept is actually crazy when you think about the numbers. Even though the form is child's play in terms of my true power because of my potential god-level forms, SS1/Lv.1 alone is a 50x power boost over base form. Not double or triple, ๐๐๐๐ง๐ฌ! Multiplying this amount from natural Bruce Lee-like strength and speed, and energy output, the power increase is colossal. From a real life physics standpoint, that already is in a terrifying superhuman level, despite being the weakest form in my arsenal; One simple punch can wreck a whole building or can throw a car in the air when going all out. And then, Lv.2 can double that, and so on, but that's beside the point. A Kamehameha to the ground in this form will cause the whole Earth to slowly explode (that also goes with base form).
But the real reason why this obsolete form is still being used frequently is most but not all of the main heroes and villains in peak potential are within low or mid DBZ-level strength in the story (SS1 to SS2). Also, for safety reasons, there is an international law among ALL Worlds that powerful characters should not use Super Saiyan 3-level power or greater except for emergencies (saving the World from villains), brief displays, or very controlled use in remote locations as to not easily destroy the Earth, as by that point, the strength output becomes ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐. If not followed, Whis or Beerus will come down and warn or punish the character who illegally used their upper limits of superpowers. Only in outer space away from the planet (such as the Universe Fighting Tournament) is when things become unrestricted.
But there is a downside. Because Lv.1 is the common workhorse of power ups in combat or dealing with dangerous tasks, my character self is so used to using SSJ-level power, and it makes him startled when facing an opponent far stronger than that range of strength. Little normally avoids jumping into higher levels unless necessary, as he gradually warms up from base and Lv.1 before upgrading when facing harder targets in battles.
Nevertheless, SS1 isn't weak in my crossover, as it physically still works in the exact same way as in Dragon Ball Z, making greater forms over Lv.3 essentially overkill on the Earth. It is my way of saying just because a form is old and obsolete by better stronger forms doesn't mean it should never be used again. If it is handy in a situation, use it. After all, Super Saiyan 1 ๐ธ๐ข๐ด powerful, and I still love the classic power up form of Goku.
