In a world where superhero films like The X-men, Birds of Prey, and New Mutants reigns supreme, you’d think that we’d be awash in garish displays of spandex and altruistic role models hell bent on breaking society’s apathetic decline towards moral decay… but instead we’re given a chorus of grieving murderous demi-gods and extra-legal vigilantes who are so self-consciously determined to be taken SERIOUSLY they miss the point of superhero fiction all together. Or at least they dress like it.
