Why the Nintendo Switch 2 DOESN'T need an OLED screen
I don’t care whether the Nintendo Switch 2 has an OLED screen at launch. In fact, I’d rather that it didn’t. Let me explain why…
When the Switch 2 trailer dropped on 16th January, it showed us that the console’s screen is getting bigger, stretching to an enviable eight inches. But is that an LCD screen or an OLED screen?
Nintendo hasn’t provided a clear answer on that yet, although rumours and leaks around the web seem convinced that its LCD.
There’s no denying that OLED screens get you a brighter, clearer, more colourful image — anyone who’s seen an original Switch next to an OLED Model Switch can tell you that.
However, there’s one big reason why I don’t want the Switch 2 to have an OLED screen at launch...
