Call of the Haunted was once banned in classic YGO. The card simply has the effect to Special Summon a monster from your GY in Attack Position. Also if its removed from the field it destroys the monster it summons. Now in early ygo, being able to cheat out big monsters from the GY (Dark Magician of Chaos) was still considered a game changing move. Getting high stated monsters on board too easily was just such a swing that it could sometimes win you the game on its own
