Compared to the PS2 and other versions, the Japanese 3DS release of Dragon Quest VIII has made changes to various parts of the game, in a manner resembling censorship. It is thought that these alterations are due to rating-related reasons. The English release has not yet been confirmed to also have these changes, although it is likely to be the same as in Japan. Dragon Quest VIII 3DS will be released in the US and Europe January 20th.
