Microsoft recently announced new price hikes for their Xbox Live Gold program for console users. Unfortunately for gamers who like to prepay for a whole year, they'll be spending twice as much to get the same service. While this is likely a move to push gamers toward Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions (which are better values), this is price increase is definitely not a good look for Microsoft, which has spent years rehabilitating its image after the rocky launch of the Xbox One in 2013.
