A lot of customers make the mistake of tipping on just one order and leaving the other at $0. That might seem fine, but here’s why it actually slows down your delivery:
DoorDash often splits your two orders between different drivers. One order with a tip gets picked up right away, while the no-tip order sits unclaimed.
Even if the same Dasher gets both orders, they’ll prioritize the tipped one first, meaning the no-tip order gets delayed.
Base pay + tips are balanced by DoorDash’s algorithm, and orders with no tips often become “undesirable.”
👉 By splitting your tip between both orders (even if it’s just $5 on each, or $2.50 each), you make sure BOTH orders are attractive to drivers and get delivered faster, sometimes even at the exact same time.
