10I didn't ask for a meme-filled H3H3 pack either.
Okay, so I bought the H3H3 pack on release for the sakes of curiosity. After the H3H3 DLC broke Payday 2 on my Linux partition (because of course), I went onto Windows to see how good/ bad it was. And it's um...it's bad.
Look, I've got nothing against Ethan or Hila, but I have criticisms for this pack, mainly that the voices are bloody awful. The general chatter is just vape memes and stuff they're well know for on Youtube. Their voices, aren't inspiring or charasmatic, and don;t have much charm to make them unique. We already have a bored-sounding heister, and his name is Rust, we don't need another one, thank you.
Subsequently, I refunded it on the grounds of the characters not being lore-freindly in the slightest....on Ethans side at least. Hila's backstory, while taken from real life also, is much more suited for Payday 2.
Say what you want about Goat Sim heist, and it is one of the worse ones in the game, right up there with cook off (fight me) and Bomb: Forest. But at least the context of Goat Sim made sense considering the contractor was Vlad, someone who's told us to transport freakin' Nukes before now, Beat up Almir Lis- I mean, His Brother-in-law in a shopping mall for cocaine and airlifting a christmas tree. Vlad is nuts, his characterisation in-game has well established that he's cuckoo. Ethan and Hila don't have that characterisation anywhere in their lines, their backstory or on the packs description.
TL; DR is this pack is god-awful, with the saving grace being Hila and the perk deck.
