The Meta Progression is Strong in this Rogue Lite, as Tearing through the Procedurally Generated Pyramids, gaining Gold and finding weapons, then upgrading your chosen Immortal at the Tree of Life when you fall is the name of the game. Epic Lvl Good Stuff!
As the name of the game says, your character is Immortal, which offers much time to Lvl Up your skills. And there are multiple unlockable Classes in addition to the redneck, if one wishes for an Immortal of a different flavor, with differing weapons and abilities too.
The Meta Progression functions like in Rogue Legacy, as all the gold you don't spend is lost, so save up to buy the upgrades you want.
The dungeons you are going through are actually Pyramids, so you are going up, not down each Lvl. Interestingly, there is platforming, which takes advantage of the very vertical structure of the Lvls. Think leaping from ledge to ledge, jumping over lava, stuff like that, and many of the rooms are multiple lvls, providing elevators, staircases, and platform sections to quickly navigate the room. Doors might be above you, beneath you, as well as hidden chests holding weapons, so it can be worth it to explore around a bit.
I was not expecting a bit of a platformer in an FPS RogueLite, could be a nice surprise if you like that sort of thing.
With Procedural Generation and Perma Death, Immortal Redneck has all the Rogue Lite Features and the Fast Paced FPS Action you Crave! Maybe?
