WildStar Beta - Ch.14 - Conclusions
TL/DR:
"I like WildStar, but from solely the introductory segments I've played, I'm not sure it merits a subscription based structure. I think the Guild Wars approach, charging a box cost alone, would fit what's being offered here much more fairly, and I would even say it merits a full-budget, $60 release. That said, diehard MMO fans may disagree with me, and I can easily understand why, seeing as this game does break a lot of the usual MMO trends, escapes from the "I've played this with a different skin before" sensation that so many others suffer from, and offers a great deal of content (certainly much, much more than I've come close to tapping in this series) for players of every level. Keeping the rewards coming at a constantly satisfying pace, this game is all about the "just one more" sensation of gameplay, and as I've said before, that's the mark of a truly entertaining experience.
WildStar is charming, it's beautiful, it's unique enough to stand well apart from its competition, and it's admirably self-aware in its tongue-in-cheek aesthetic. Unfortunately, it's also riddled with poor writing, stop and start pacing, and a quest structure that fails to draw players into the cause. In all, this is an absolutely great game for those who enjoy playing MMOs, but not necessarily one for those that enjoy immersing themselves in another world."

WildStar will be released June 3rd, 2014.
