Odin, the All-Father, is the chief god in Norse mythology, revered as a deity of wisdom, war, magic, and poetry. He rules Asgard and presides over Valhalla, where fallen warriors (Einherjar) prepare for Ragnarok. Odin sacrificed an eye at Mimir's well for wisdom and hung on Yggdrasil for nine days to gain the runes' knowledge. Associated with ravens Huginn and Muninn, wolves Geri and Freki, and his spear Gungnir, he embodies foresight and power. Odin is a complex figure, often wandering in disguise to seek knowledge, symbolising sacrifice and the relentless pursuit of understanding, even at great personal cost. Ymir, a primordial being in Norse mythology, is the ancestor of all giants (Jötnar). Born from the elemental forces of fire and ice in the beginning of the world, Ymir’s body gave birth to the first beings, including the first gods. After his death at the hands of Odin and his brothers Vili and Vé, Ymir’s body was used to create the world: his flesh formed the earth, his blood the oceans, his bones the mountains, and his skull the sky.
